About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I have worked in both indoor and outdoor classrooms with students of almost all ages (4 yrs-69 yrs). Over time, I began to realize that every time I moved "down" a grade level I enjoyed teaching more and more. I love working with young kids to build those critical foundational skills. Everything from basic number sense and letter fluency, to learning how to wash their own hands, all of it!
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

My absolute favorite part of being an Educator is watching in awe as kids gain their independence, practice perseverance, and continuously add skills to their learning "toolkit."
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have a lengthy and diverse background in public education. Highlights include teaching kindergarten for three years, serving as the site leader (principal) for a K-8 school, and earning two Master's degrees - one in teaching and one in educational leadership.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

Three awesome girls in this world call me mom; their ages are 4, 8, and 11 and they push me to be the best mom and human that I can be. I have had the unique experience of getting to have two out of the three in my classroom, so I have the lens of both the parent and the educator (and sometimes, both at the same time). If I'm not in the classroom, you can probably find me outside. I love love love to run in the mountains; This hobby helps me stay grounded and patient. My longest run to date is 47 miles back and forth across the Grand Canyon.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

My philosophy stems from a belief that it's essential for kids to engage with the outside world in order to learn. If we're reading a book about worms and a few children want to learn more, then we might dig for worms that afternoon, we might try to describe how they feel in our hands, and learn what they do for our soil and our world.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

We have a home-like environment in a house on Main Street, conveniently located in downtown Bozeman (near Sweet Peaks Ice Cream). The front of the house hosts office space for the MyVillage Headquarters team, and the back of the house has a large open space (with lots of natural light) for kids to learn and play, and a separate napping room. We also spend plenty of time in our fabulous outdoor area behind the house that's fenced and removed from Main Street.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

    Breakfast, lunch & two snacks.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

I am a lifetime learner who is continuously seeking out professional development to become the best well-rounded educator and role model I can be.

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

My hope is for clear and honest communication from you as a parent. Please let me know if you feel something is not working for you, your child, or your family and we can work together to find a solution.
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Yes! Kids love to share their school experience with parents, and we'd be thrilled to have you. We also look forward to inviting you to special lunchtime and holiday celebration events; these social activities are open to more than direct parents if a family has parenting partners (such as grandparents, etc). Breastfeeding visits are always welcome and encouraged.
