About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I've had the great fortune of working in two highly credible Montessori Schools in Austin Texas (as an assistant). Both had incredible and inspiring teachers and directors. These people became my mentors, and naturally, I followed suit. My passion for education continues as does my zest for continuing my education.
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

My favorite part about being an educator is connecting with people on a meaningful level in positive and helpful ways. My heart expands with each new child or parent who passes through my program.
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

Along with my Association Montessori International Certification, I'm a Simplicity Parenting Educator (offering group classes and workshops) as well as a Parenting Consultant, offering in-home consultations. During these home sessions, I discreetly observe family life and make gentle suggestions based on the family’s particular values. I can bring ease to the family dynamic by looking at the rhythm/schedule, interior design/function of the home, and language/style of the parenting.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

I am the youngest of five and very fond of my childhood. I’ve been blessed with two incredibly wonderful children of my own, one of each, 10 and 16. Kitties and rabbits are the animals of the times, though big dogs, chickens, and horses have been in my past and my future as well! Parenting is a true love of mine, and I hope to share the extraordinarily valuable information that I have gained over all these years of teaching and parenting.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

In my program and my life, I greatly value grace and courtesy. Respect for self, others, and one’s environment are bedrock to my life’s work with the children and their families.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

Because my background is Montessori, my classroom is set up as such. However, because it is my own, I have been able to incorporate other valuable teaching philosophies such as Play Based, Experiential Learning, and even a bit of Waldorf. I feel my program’s environment is nicely balanced, comprising all of these philosophies... i.e., including dress ups, a clay table, work with food preparation, music, movement, art, languages, math introduction, science, observation of nature, etc. My goal is for children to feel free, happy and safe in the predictable and straightforward structure of my program. With all of that in place, the children’s natural curiosity propels them to experience and learn in an environment that is rich with age-appropriate developmental opportunities.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

Children bring their lunches to school. I provide opportunities for children to work with food such as making vegetable soup, crushing peanuts to make peanut butter, or squeezing oranges to make orange juice! We always watch out for food allergies and adjust accordingly.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

Additional information about rates: Monthly: $210 for 1 day a week, $420 for 2 days a week, $630 for 3 days a week, $840 for 4 days a week, $875 for 5 days week - Follows D-12 closures for weather and holidays. Upon visiting, you may encounter two rabbits and two cats that the children of my program frequently come into contact with. We do spend a fair amount of time outside, as nature is another one of my deepest values. We are also not strangers to the nearby hiking trails when group dynamics permit!

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

I ask that you be on time for pickups, let me know when their child will be absent and pay the tuition by the 1st of each month enrolled.
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

I have an open door policy and encourage parents to visit when they can. Often, I have parents come to observe my program as a form of learning ways in which they can improve their parenting at home.
