About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

Starting way back in my babysitting days, I’ve always had a love for children! There is no job more rewarding than watching children learn and grow! I’ve been blessed with great educational experiences throughout my life, and believe all children should have the same, which is ultimately what led me to this work.
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

Fostering a love of learning! I love watching the growth that children make over time and helping them to explore and find what interests them. I love supporting children in having a growth mindset, and the belief that anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have worked in public education for the past 12 years; nine of those as an elementary classroom teacher (grades 2, 4 and 5) and the past three as a P-12 Science Content Coordinator at the district level, writing standards-aligned science curriculum for elementary teachers and supporting their implementation of the curriculum. I hold a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

I have two young boys (6 and 2) who have both benefited from in-home child care, which plays a big part in why I am so passionate about this type of care! My youngest will be joining my program until it is time for him to start formal schooling. We currently do not have any pets, but we are an animal loving family! It is likely we will add a furry family member within the next year.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

I believe that children, and really all of us, learn best by doing! When children have the opportunity to learn through play, they are able to make connections and make meaning for themselves. I also believe that thematic teaching allows students to make connections, ultimately leading to a deeper understanding.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

Our daily schedule includes teacher-led activities such as Circle Time, literacy, math, science, and arts and crafts. Outdoor play and free play are built into daily activities, and I also include opportunities for children to visit learning centers based on their interests.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

Breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

I provide a safe and nurturing environment, with my hope being that this becomes your child’s home away from home.

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

Please keep the lines of communication open! This includes, but is not limited to, celebrations as well as questions and concerns. Friday Folders will go home on Friday afternoons and are expected to be returned on Monday mornings. This is a partnership, and the more parents can be involved the better!
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

I absolutely encourage visits from parents! Children love when their parents can participate in their learning! This is a partnership and the more children can see that, the stronger our learning community becomes!
